Rain, Rain, Go Away

Another wet day in the neighborhood. I'm not sure we'll have many days this summer without rain.

At least it didn't make me feel as guilty sitting inside and sewing most of the day.  I managed to get one quilt finished, and a wall hanging almost finished.  Posts about them will follow in the coming days

And then the house-hunting/dreaming for man and I.

Now that the job has been obtained, and he's all set to continue school this year, we've been looking and dreaming.  We've lived with my parents for the past year while I was working to get the job, and to help care-take for my grandmother.  Now that Grandma is moved into a new place, and the job is here {!!!}, we are feeling the itch to be back in our own place again!

We've been making our list {and checking it twice} of the things we want in a house:
    - At least 4 bedroom/2 bath
    - A place for my sewing studio and a place for Mr. Man's ceramics studio
    - 2 car garage
    - Space to entertain
    - Decent space in the backyard
    - Mostly turnkey ready, we're willing to do some updating and such

We're ready to settle down, and not move around every year or two.  And babies?  Oh, those will come soon enough.

Off to continue looking, searching and dreaming!

Until next time..

What's meant to be

Now that I have been back from training about a month and am beginning to settle into my job, things have settled down a bit around here.  Granted - another change will come Monday when I start my actual shift of afternoons.  I'm really looking forward to it.  Anyone who know me knows that I am not a morning person, so getting up at dark 5:15 was not exactly my idea of fun.

Along with the settling into the changes in life, I'm revamping my blog a bit.  I have always loved all of the quilting and crafting blogs out there, and I strived to be like them.  Though, I don't have the time to blog everyday like many of them do.  And I have felt a bit pressured to have different projects and inspirational ideas abound.  I know the pressure was just from myself.  I felt tapped out of creativity, and was struggling to not post about the same thing time after time.  I wanted to be a blogger that was read by many and received many comments.  But I think with finding a job that I enjoy in a field that I am passionate about, having a man that I love and love being with, and spending wonderful time with family and friends - my need to be out there is not there any longer.

Have no fear, the blog will continue, just have a different goal in mind.  A place to jot down projects, inspirations, different happenings in life.

So today begins a new day, and a different way of looking at what this blog is to me.

Until next time..

How I love thee!

Sewing that is!

And I have been going and going at it.  Since I've been back, I've finished a quilt top of vintage fabrics {must finish for my Etsy store}, almost finished a table quilt of Easter fabric, and started my Black & White quilt.

All of that amidst starting my new job {which I am loving, by the way!}.

Mr. Man also joined me tonight and worked on his kilt.
Until next time...

Miss me?

And I'm back!

I've actually been home a week, but started work as soon as I got home from training out in Montana.  I will say, it was beautiful out there, but it was so nice to be home!

I didn't even sew at all last week, I was wiped!

Sunday I was back to it!  Miss Ashlee was over sewing, and that helped me get back to my lovely machine.  And sadly, even though Ashlee just joined us recently for sewing night with the girls, she will soon be leaving us. :(  She is off to the south for a job.

What have I worked on you ask?  Well, making a big block vintage sheet quilt, a thread catcher for Miss Ashlee to take with her on her adventure, and continuing to work on my little hand sewing project.

It is so nice to be back!

Until next time...

Crafty time away from home

Only a few weeks left!

I needed a bit of a break from hand sewing, so I visited Ben Franklin. I got pulled to the scrapbook section as soon as I walked in... and boy am I glad I did!

I found some vinyl sticker quotes that I knew I wanted to make frames and signs with! Plus a couple frames that I wanted to add to the gallery wall Mr. Man an I are going to put up when I get back. I must have been in the store at least an hour or more! So I finalized everything, made my purchases, and was on my way!

I love how everything turned out! Take a look :).

Half done

I'm half done with my training in the great state of Montana!

It has been tiring, educational, confidence building, and rather amazing so far. My brain has been filled with an immense amount of information, I'm not sure how much room is left! I've explored a bit, and enjoyed the mountain views.

I get a wonderful break to make a trip home this weekend, and I couldn't be more excited! I have been missing home a bit more as each day passed. And this will be a special trip home.

Not only will I get to spend time with my love, my kitty and my family - I also get to meet my new little niece! I have been fortunate enough to have had a number of photos sent to me, but also the privilege of Chatting over FaceTime! Little Annabelle is beautiful, and I've fallen in love with her already. I've been told she is very cuddly and has a wonderful personality already - just my kind of niece! I can't wait to meet the little gem!

Well, I'm off to sleep to catch my flight in the morning!

Until next time...

Tumbling along

The first week of training is done. Five left to go.

It's pretty beautiful out here in Montana, especially waking up to a view of the mountains each day!

I've been doing a bit of my hand sewing in my downtime and I'm loving how "Tumbling Gnomes" is coming along!

One of these days I'm going to go on a little quilt excursion! Any blog land friends have suggestions of quilt shops near Helena?

Until next time..
